Liz Korabek-Emerson
I am a certified mindfulness teacher, transformational workshop leader and theatre artist dedicated to helping you become more resilient in your workplace, home and community.
Since 2012 I have been designing and leading mindfulness programs for individuals and organizations, including the Portsmouth Hospital, Maine Health, Beacon Hospice, Liberty Mutual and the Riverwoods Retirement Community. I am on the roster of rotating teachers for meditation at the Portsmouth Library and lead a weekly drop-in group at Gateway Taiji Studio.
I received my mindfulness teacher certification from the Mindfulness Training Institute in 2015. I have also completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course and facilitation tutorial. In 2014 I was certified as a transformational workshop leader through the Powerful Workshops program at Kripalu.
I am on the faculty at NHTI (Concord’s Community College) in the Mindful Communications program. I am the co-author of Designing and Leading Life Changing Workshops, published in 2020.
I am a long time meditator and a member of the Natural Dharma Fellowship. I hold an MFA in theatre and bring thirty years of experience in creating and directing theatre to my teaching helping to create programs that are empowering, creative and engaging.
Having a mindfulness practice has taught me that even when I can’t change the conditions of my life (a cancer diagnosis, stalled career or difficult family relationships), I can still change my experience of those conditions, and learn to adapt and respond in ways that support happiness and well being. The key to making this change was in training my mind to be in the present moment.”
